India's 61st Republic Day

We, Indians, are today celebrating the 61st Republic Day. It was on 26th January 1950 that the Constitution of India came into force. This is the Parliament of India, where our lawmakers sit and decide the fate of the country.

I hope that the politicians sitting in this sacred chamber of democracy take a pledge to concentrate on realising the potential India has as a young republic rather than investing time in encouraging communal disharmony in the country.

P.S: Mile Sur Mera Tumhara was a song composed in the 1980s which spoke of India's unity in diversity and had several icons of that time featuring in the video. The same song has been improvised and a new video featuring the Indian icons of today has been released across the country today. You can see the new version, Phir Mile Sur, here.

and SRK is not there!!!! :P
amitabh is there, salman is there. but no SRK!!!! :P

On a serious note, congratulations to all of us for whatever our great nation has achieved in the past 60 years. Having said that, its pretty obvious that a lot more needs to be achieved. I wish all the best to all of us for our own little contributions in that direction.

Happy birthday, India! I share your hopes too, Priyanka. Both for India and my own country.
